Abstract

Digital financial inclusion has become a global priority, yet evidence regarding the determinants and impacts of digital payment adoption digital payment adoption remains fragmented. This study aims to identify the determinants of digital payment adoption and its impact on financial inclusion through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 25 Scopus articles (2017–2026). The SLR methodology followed the PRISMA protocol. The results indicate that determinants of adoption include digital readiness, financial literacy, agent liquidity, education, income, and policy support. Positive impacts include improved business performance, financial literacy, women’s empowerment, and happiness. However, negative aspects such as security risks and gender gaps were also identified. This study concludes that there is a need for balanced policy integration between accelerating adoption and consumer protection.
