Abstract

The area of our discussion is how the Catholic Church can participate in the political life of the country. There are so many facts that a lot of priests or even a bishop have taken a part the position of civil power. In the face of the communion spirit of the Second Vatican Council, there is an important question: is it necessary that the hierarchy of the Church should go to political practice while so many lays have the political capacity and capability? How the hierarchy and also the religious in the Catholic Church give their position to support the civil life, especially good government and bonum commune? This article tries to give the answer in the canonical perspective.
