PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KNISLEY BERBANTUAN EDUCAPLAY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VII SMP

This study aims to determine whether the application of the Knisley learning model assisted by Educaplay can improve the critical mathematical thinking skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Budi Murni 3 Medan. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The research procedure was in the form of cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class VII-B SMP Budi Murni 3 Medan, and the object of the research was critical thinking ability. Data collection techniques were through observation and tests. Data collection used instruments in the form of teacher observation sheets and student observation sheets, while to determine students’ critical mathematical thinking skills, tests were used. The results of the study showed that the use of the Knisley learning model assisted by Educaplay could improve students’ critical mathematical thinking skills in data presentation material. From the initial average score of 41.33, the average score of critical mathematical thinking skills in Cycle I was 59.83, and the average score in Cycle II was 81.66. The average score of student activity in Cycle I was 73% and 57%, while in Cycle II it was 86% and 82%. Thus, the Knisley learning model assisted by Educaplay was effective in improving students’ critical mathematical thinking skills and learning activities in the classroom.References
