Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical communication skills of class X students on SPtLDV material through the application of problem pose learning model assisted by interactive learning videos at SMA Santo Petrus Medan. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which is implemented in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The object of this study is to improve the mathematical communication skills of class X students on SPtLDV material by applying the problem positioning learning model. Before the action is carried out, a pre-test is given, the results of the initial test of students' mathematical communication skills show that the class average is 50 with 11 students (31%) who achieve the minimum completeness criteria. The results of the cycle I student mathematical communication skills test show that the class average value increases by 50 to 66 with an increase in the number of students who achieve the minimum completeness criteria by 11 students to 15 students (42%). The results of the second cycle of student communication ability tests showed that the average class score increased by 60 to 83 with an increase in the number of students achieving the minimum completion criteria of 15 students to 29 students (81%). Based on the results of the research obtained, the application of the problem posing learning model can improve the mathematical communication skills of class X students at SMA Santo Petrus.
